A la Neruda

Kissing his forehead,
Kissing his cheeks,
I reminisce.
I savor it, all at the same time.
I understand when Neruda said "me gustas cuando callas".
He spoke truth in that poem.
Thee is something about the silence in a person. When they are calm, quiet, either reading, watching tv, or just breathing, sleeping.
All one can do is be quiet and admire.
How invested they become in their own activity, and feel honored to be sharing that space with them.
I miss him, yes.
I admire him, yes.
I care for him, of course.
I desire love and happiness for him.
See them smile with genuine love and joy.
Fulfilled.
Observe them in their silence.
Lay against him, gently massage him, and grateful to share just the space.
To allow me in that moment.
Gratitude.
Bliss.
Admiration.
