Sun & Moon

I've given you my body
The moon speaks when in full light.
I don't see you everyday says the Sun.
We live apart, she says.
He says nothing.
He is use to letting himself be seen by others, everyday. Behaves as if I don't exist.
He is aware of my presence in space, in time, in distance.
Yet he is unwilling to know me.
I know all there is to know. More than he knows.
We become one body during full eclipses. Marking the occasion as something special, but is it though?
I'm only seen in the dark, a shiny beacon. Attracting those who dare to wish to look upon me.
You on the other hand can not be seen, for anything you touch can be destroyed.
Yet you are passion, candid, nurturing.
But I am nothing to you, just another heavenly body in your solar system.
A cold sadness I have to carry night after night, and every day hide it from view.
Maybe one day I will tell you what lie beneath the dark side of the moon.
But I know that, that is asking for the impossible to happen.
For I am the Moon that brightens his nights and he is the Sun that darkens my days.
